It happened last night … is an editorial project I created on speculation of selling it in the summer of 2016, but it has remained unsold.
In 2015, Indianapolis was gripped in a spate of violent homicide that saw more than 200 murders. As 2016 opened, the murders continued unabated. I decided to begin visiting every site of every murder until I reached a critical mass of images. The images here comprise that project, starting with the murders in January. I photographed these sites in June.
These murders leave an indelible mark on the landscape of tomorrow.
